City Anticipate Impact of La Nina

Jakarta Provincial Government is anticipating La Nina. It is predicted that rain intensity will increase in this June. There are two disasters to be anticipated, flood and bad weather.

Highest rain intensity in in September, October, and November

Denny Wahyu, Jakarta Head of Task Unit for BPBD, said rain intensity in July is still low. It will increase in August.

“Highest rain intensity in in September, October, and November,” he said, Monday (7/18).

BMKG predicts rain intensity could reach 300 milimeter per month. The number is above the normal intensity.

Flood anticipation must be monitored at riverbanks such as Sunter and Cipinang. In South Jakarta is at Pesanggrahan river, while Ciliwung riverbank is safe.
